Give a Gift of Love and Memory

Murphy

Murphy, a neglected gelding 26 years old
Found with no food, no water and braving the cold

He was taken away one day to live a better life
To be used for helping others suffering pain and strife

Trying to gain the weight that he would need
Kristi tried hard but had no time to succeed

You see Murphy passed away today
It was not here in this life we was supposed to stay

He is now in heaven where he is supposed to be
He suffered on earth and now has been set free

The man up above knew his pain and said
“Leave earth behind, come live with me instead”

God took him as heaven needed a horse I guess
And good old Murphy was the very best!

In Memory of Katie

My dear friend Robin Lozier has given a memorial in memory of their dear dog Katie.

Katie came to us as a lost puppy. She grew up helping us on our ranch, chasing gophers and rabbits! Katie never hurt a fly, and wanted only to please. She was Irv's best friend and loving companion. Our Grandchildren loved her to pieces and she loved them. Katie was the most kind, loving Angel we have ever had in our family. Her untimely death has left us with a painful heart and lots of tears of loss. Time may lessen the pain, but our hearts will never heal. We miss you so much. God Bless you Katie, our very special Angel.

In Memory of Carter

CARTER YOU DID NOT DIE VAIN

Carter with an injury poorly mended

His poor back leg barely bended

When after the vet gave us the news

The info I got really gave me the blues

A huge old man and the very best

Now sadly had to be laid to rest

At first I was angry and very mad

Then took to crying and became very sad

It was after all the tears subsided

I finally realized and then decided

We would work harder and harder and even smarter

We would not let you down my dear sweet Carter

Off we went and sent you to heaven

And went back to get your friends, all eleven

It is because of you your friends were saved

The Appys the Paints the Sorrels and Bays

It is from earth to heaven that your friends say

Thank you Carter for giving us another day

Chico, Macy, Houdini, Cinnamon, Shesia, Rocky, Penny, Cayenne, Luther, Pokey and Chaka

In Memory of Asia and Flash

A GOOD BYE TO ASIA AND FLASH

Asia and Flash arrived with severe founder. They were 22 years old and suffering badly. With no recovery at all in over a month, we and the vet agreed with age comes slower recovery if any at all. After days of deliberation and last efforts, we agreed it was their time. I found this poem that reminds me of them and hope they are running the meadows as I write this, they will be missed by many. The good news is, the reason they arrived in the first place is that their owner had passed and as I understand were her life and special babies. I hope they are reunited today.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE FOR HORSES

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where beloved creatures find rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Til The Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer in pain or in sadness, for here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored their health renewed. Their bodies have healed with strength imbued.

They trot through the grass without even a care, Til one day they whinny and sniff at the air. All ears prick forward, eyes sharp and alert. Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the herd.

For just at that second, there’s no room for remorse. As they see each other…one person…one horse. So they run to each other, these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart Has turned to joy once more in each heart. They nuzzle with a love that will last forever. And then, side-by-side, they cross over….together.
