Mission Statement:

Muffin, poor Muffin. She came to the rescue over a year ago rescued by a bystander who happened to see her and 2 others with no feed or water in a farmers yard. They offered to buy them and immediately turned them over to us. Muffin was so terrified of people and impossible to catch. She was adopted but shortly thereafter given back for that reason. Though she was happy to give rides to the kids, she was just too hard to catch.

She came back to us and we continued to work with her but she did not seem to come around very much. She was adopted again to a family with kids who wanted to ride her. Again she gave rides but was too hard to catch. She again came back to us at the rescue. It seemed poor Muffin was just not very placable.

A great volunteer offered to foster her and work with her over the winter and made some progress with her. They loved her and gave her treats and taught her some manners but the farrier had one heck of a time with her. Muffin eventually came back to us when we had another trainer who offered to adopt her. We brought Muffin home for adoption only to have that party back out.

Muffin's story just seemed to be getting sadder. It seemed no one wanted poor Muffin. WAIT! A call comes in from Val in Colorado, she wants Muffin sight unseen and just knows Muffin is her destined mini. A beautiful home in the trees, 2 other horses to have for friends, wow! After waiting several weeks a transporter finally makes time to haul Muffin to her new home several hundred miles away.

Now, believe it or not, Muffin, now Bear, is acting like a perfect angel. She stands like an angel for the farrier and Val, she comes to Val anytime, yes SHE comes to Val! Val can't imagine not having the perfect Bear for her very own. Shows there IS a horse for everyone, you just have to find it or maybe it needs to find you. Muffin found horse heaven after all her long years of wanting a good home. Makes it all worth it.
