PLEASE help us fight against horse slaughter and pass Senate Bill 1176 The American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act. This is our last hope as as of today 11.15.11 Congress passed a bill to allow for millions of taxpayer dollars to inspect horse meat. This means we do not need the U.S.D.A. inspectors anymore and slaughter is back in business. We need to alert the country and need funds to put up billboards in ND.
Sen. Mary Landrieu [D-LA], has introduced Bill S. 1176, American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act of 2011, to amend the Horse Protection Act to prohibit the shipping, transporting, moving, delivering, receiving, possessing, purchasing, selling, or donation of horses and other equines to be slaughtered for human consumption, and for other purposes.
At this point, Bill S 1176 NEEDS CO-SPONSORS. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO FIND YOUR SENATOR. PLEASE EMAIL, CALL AND FAX YOUR SENATOR, AND ASK HIM/HER TO PLEASE CO-SPONSOR S 1176, which is now located in the Senate's Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee. FAXES RULE. Please CLICK HERE to send 2 Free Faxes Per Day. No Credit Card Required, and the Faxes DO go through.
It is up to us…Do we want Transport of Horses to Slaughter to STOP? Or do we want Horses to continue being transported to Slaughter for Human Consumption and other Purposes?
Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue was inspired by a little miniature horse named Dennis. Dennis is an 11 year-old miniature that our family purchased for driving. Dennis was not an abused horse and he is quite a character that everyone loves. He makes an absolutely wonderful companion for our daughter's dressage horse, Gus, and he even likes all the dogs. Dennis got me hooked on minis.
We had recently purchased the family farm in 2006 and thought what better way to utilize it than to help abused minis. With room, feed, love and a bundle of nerves, we set out on our new adventure. We are confident that through education, volunteers and support, Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue can "Make A Difference" and offer abused, neglected, and surrendered mini's HELP-HOPE-HOMES.
Dennis was donated to the Triple H Rescue by the founder of the organization so he could be the company mascot. He is the whole reason the rescue exists. He is broke to ride and drive and keeps us all here at the rescue laughing. He can be ornery and grumpy and sweet all at the same time. What a horse!!
My name is Alison Smith and I am the founder of Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue. I had a vision and my wonderful husband Steve supported me helped me put it all together. He does all the hard work and without him, Triple H would not exist. It took a year of careful planning and late night talks to get Triple H put together. We had an opportunity to help horses and make a difference and we took it! Sure glad we did..
Donations made to the general fund will be used to provide food, shelter, veterinary care, and other items integral to the process of rescuing and housing miniature horses.
Big-Hearted Bella Finds a Friend is a delightful story of how a tiny miniature horse named Bella comes to find a very special friend and realizes that being different is really not different at all.
Bella and her friend Lilly are real miniature horses that reside at the Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue in Mandan, ND. Bella was born on May 12, 2010 just 15 inches tall and weighing only 9 pounds! The average miniature horse foal is 18 to 22 pounds and up to 21 inches.
100% of the proceeds from the sale of Bella's book will benefit the Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue, a 501c(3) not-for-profit charity.
Oreo, a miniature horse travels to Washington DC with her human mother Leah to tell the story of how important the horse was to the creation of the United States. While there two mysterious children lead her into the White House where she meets her great grandfather Algonquin who belonged to Teddy Roosevelt. He takes Oreo on a wonderful journey through time to hear right from the horse’s mouth the truth about our history.
