She had her first trim and she did great. It will take a year for her hooves to grow out and look normal but she should make a full recovery with no problems. Zsa Zsa
Zsa Zsa is a 3 month old filly that came in with 9 other minis. They were are badly neglected. Some are starving, most have the worst feet I have seen and the recovery process will be at least a year for those. Zsa Zsa and her mom Maize are in the worst shape and Zsa Zsa nearly died before we could get her to the vet. Her mom is so starved that Zsa Zsa could not get any milk or nutrition. She is dehydrated and starved and will be fed by hand for a while and then hopefully move on to some pellets. She is very sweet.
Update -
Zsa Zsa went to the vet the morning after arriving. She has a large ulcer over her cornea. We are hoping she will not lose some sight or function in that eye. She collapsed twice after getting her home from the vet and had to be rushed in as she was starting to die and get stiff. She received IV fluids and was kept overnight. The vet wanted to keep her for the week-end but things like that are costly. I brought her home and watched her every minute. She collapsed the next day and the vet said she has to make up her mind to live. I sat with her all day and started to brush her, she got up and started to EAT! What a trooper.
By the next day she was not eating again and had colic and A LOT of worms. This is the 3rd day and she is slowly starting to eat. Not much, but it is progress. She is also drinking water. Tonight (the 5th day) she is starting to follow me around and is very slow, but likes company. I think she just may make it.
Zsa Zsa was adopted with another foal who had been returned. Together they are ready for the world and could not be going to a better home. Lots of love comin' their way!

She Loves attention and gets along well with anything she is with. She is starting to really like human attention and follows us around when we clean her corral. She will be an easy going friendly donkey for anyone. She may be bred but we do not know for sure yet. She will be getting a pregnancy test soon to find out.

Adana
Adana is a mare approx age 7. She came in with 4 others that had been running wild for several years. She had 3 of her babies come in and the stallion that fathered all of them. Bullet, her oldest foal, had to be put down as he arrived with tremendous front knee injuries that the vet could not repair. Adana is wild but will lead nicely and loads but she is timid, afraid and hard to catch at this point. She will make a good mini once she has had some human interaction and learns to trust. She is absolutely gorgeous and has a sweet disposition but needs a lot of TLC right now. 11-15-08. Check back later to see how she is coming along.

She will need a lot of time spent with her to get her to trust humans being that she has had no human contact, or very little anyway. She is already progressing in leaps and bounds and will make a great mini in the months to come. She will be up for adoption more than likely in the spring of 2009.
Babe FINALLY is getting a home she deserves. She has waited a long time and is so happy that Joan finally found her.
Frieda
Frieda is a 5 1/2 month old filly. She is very friendly and loves to talk and follow you around. She is halter broke-good with her feet, leads and loads great. Great with kids and has spent a lot of time with people. She is a mini everyone adores. Her mom was very sick and had to be laid to rest so now Frieda is ready to find her forever home.
Buckshot
Buckshot was gotten at the auction. He had terrible feet and was in a lot of pain. We managed to get him out of there and went to work on his
feet right away. He is doing so good after his very first trimming that he has been running and kicking up his heels ever since. He is very
friendly and should make a good riding pony. He will reside at the rescue until he is 100%. He may be used for events for kids at the
rescue.
Betsy Boo
Betsy Boo is a 3 month old mini mule. She is so comical with her half whinny half bray. She is a mule so she is sterile. She is very friendly and loves attention. She is halter broke and leads well. She is also UTD on shots and wormer. She will make a great pet.

Merlin
Merlin is a 4 year old paint gelding that is approximately 11 hands. He is halter broke and leads good but is a bit nervous at this point. We
will continue to work with him and see if we can get some help from a trainer to help him come along a bit faster. He has beautiful color and will make a wonderful pony. Merlin has not been abused but was
donated by someone who no longer wanted him and did not want to run through the sales ring. He wants a good home for his former friend.
Merlin is adopted! He is very happy about his new owner and promises to behave.
Wizard
Wizard is a beautiful gelding paint pony. He is approximately 11.2 hands and about 7 years old. He has been very spoiled but is not broke. He leads fine and is halter broke, but nothing else. If you are a qualified horse trainer, this guy would make an awesome horse. If you
can adopt him please call the Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue. Wizard is up to date on his shots and wormer.
Natasha
Natasha is a 7 year old mare that had a halter grow into her nasal area. She is fine but the halter left a permanent scar on her nose. She is very timid but very sweet too. She has had kids on her back and given rides. She needs some TLC.
Mr. Nibs
Mr. Nibs is a 4 month old colt. He will need to be gelded as soon as he is ready. Nibs is such a sweetheart and eager to learn. He is somewhat timid at first but is warming up and getting comfortable. He has not been abused or neglected but was bought by a concerned person at the auction. He deserves the best!
UPDATE
Mr. Nibs was adopted but was returned due to a harsh winter with a lot of snow and he could no longer be cared for.
Mr. Nibs was adopted with another foal who had been returned. Together they are ready for the world and could not be going to a better home. Lots of love comin' their way!
Dixie
Dixie and Dinah are miniature jennies for adoption. Dixie is 6 months old spotted Jenny and Dinah is a gray and black yearling. They are both VERY friendly, small and quiet. They were not neglected or abused but purchased for the rescue but with so many minis coming in that need rehab or medical attention we are unable to work with them right now. They are both so nice and ready to go so we do not want them to miss out on a great homes.
Shooter
Shooter is on his way to the rescue as soon as he is weaned. He has parrot mouth but is eating fine. He is a beautiful palomino colt. He will make a nice fellow for anyone to enjoy and train.
Shooter was adopted by a wonderful woman in Ray, ND who will spend a lot of time with him. He is also going to make a great companion for another little horse. What a lucky guy!
Sarah
Sarah came in 8-10-08. Her owners were VERY sad to let her go but have no hay for her. She is approx. 15 and suffered a broken hip as a foal. She limps and appears to have one leg shorter than the other but it doesn't slow her down. She is the sweetest mini we have had come in. She loves people and wants attention constantly. She is a very content little gal. More than likely she will be a permanent resident at the rescue.
Dinah
Dixie and Dinah are miniature jennies for adoption. Dixie is 6 months old spotted Jenny and Dinah is a gray and black yearling. They are both VERY friendly, small and quiet. She has been one of Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue's horses used for events etc. She has never been abused or neglected. She would make a great horse for anyone.
Shaggy
Shaggy arrived at the rescue July 8 2008. He is a beautiful Shetland gelding. Shaggy is approximately 13-14 years of age. He is acting stiff and touchy right now. I believe him to be in the beginning stages of grass founder. He is not bad and will make a full recovery. He will be with us for a while until we can get him more comfortable and he also needs to lose a bit of weight. He will be a horse that should be on grass hay only or very limited green grass and oats. Shaggy is super quiet and friendly. He has been used his whole life for pony rides so he is good with everyone. Sweet disposition and easy to catch and load.
Shaggy was adopted for a 5 year old and will be given a great home with a lot of love and attention.
Duffy
Duffy is a 17 year old shetland pony gelding. He taught a family of 4 children how to ride and then moved on to teach a few more. He is a good boy that loads and leads well. He is UTD on shots and wormer and appears to be sound with good feet. He is very sweet. He needs a new hairdo but other than that he is ready-set-go!
Duffy has been placed in a Foster Home and if all goes well, he will be adopted.
Solomon
Solomon arrived at Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue 7-2-08. We know he isn't too miniature, but couldn't say no to this good ole boy! He is a 22 year old gelding that was stunt trained. He has an old eye injury that causes him no pain but he has vision loss in his right eye and may be blind. We are unsure to the extent of the damage. He is a beautiful big guy at 16 hands. He is very sweet and well behaved. He loads, leads and appears sound with good feet. He had his teeth floated last year and is UTD on shots and wormer. He is a little under weight and will need some weight put on but other than that he is a very good boy and aims to please.
Solomon has been placed in a Foster Home and if all goes well, he will be adopted.
Manny
Manny came to Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue 7-1-08. He is very small approx 29 inches. He is a stallion and unsure of his age. He seems to be super sweet but very much afraid of people yet. He got a halter that fit him and really enjoyed getting the one he had on off. It was very tight and you can see where it was on his little face. He should heal nicely from that and will have updates as he progresses.
Manny was adopted along with Julius. They will get some formal training and a great home with lots of children to dote on them. The best part is they get to stay together.
Julius
Julius arrived. We do not know how old he is but we hope to find out soon. Julius is a stallion that we will be getting gelded. He is very nice but very timid too. He leads and loads very good. He is approx. 36-37 inches and a beautiful paint. We have high hopes for Julius. Updates as he progresses.

Blossom
Blossom arrived at Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue Saturday May 24, 2008. She has suffered a severe leg injury years ago and is very, very timid. She is hard to catch and is leery of anyone touching her or her feet. She will need some rehabilitation but should come around nicely. We are expecting great results with her but it will take some time. She is not a mini but more of a pony. She is about 38-39 inches tall and 8-10 years old. She had her feet trimmed as the back hoof was so long it was curling up. She was very afraid of the farrier but actually did quite well. She was so happy to run around afterwards on her new foot. I think she may also need some dental work so she will get that done in the next few days as well. Then the work begins. Be looking for Blossom to come up for adoption in the months to come.
Blossom was adopted in December of 2008 by her foster mom. She will get to live out her days being pampered and understood. She is so lucky to have found this great home!

Charlie
OK, OK, I said I would not take "BIG" horses. We are a MINI rescue. Well, famous last words. This is Charlie. Charlie is a LARGE 9 year old Quarter Horse/Morgan gelding. He was donated to the rescue by a woman who could no longer take care of him due to pasture shortage and the fact Charlie can no longer be ridden due to a bone chip in his ankle. She was told there were no options for him, but recently we have had some news from the vet that perhaps he can have surgery and do VERY well. We are excited to delve into this and see what can be done for Charlie. He will remain at the rescue until he heals. He is a very docile gelding that seems to LOVE everyone except me. He tries to bite me when I pet him. I think he has been used to hand-fed treats. We will not be giving any hand-fed treats and see if he gets over that. I'm sure he will. He is very easy going, loads and leads great and is very non-aggressive with other horses. He will make an excellent companion horse at this time and has hopes of getting surgery and becoming a riding horse again one day. Updates to come...
Charlie was adopted and is getting the attention he deserves. He gets to lounge around the farm and have fun all day with 2 kids that sit on his back. He is not going to be able to be ridden due to his bone spurs but he is happy to give the small children rides and to be groomed. He is very happy now and is loving following his new owners around like he was a puppy dog. Charlie is so friendly he will definitely become a new best friend.
Stormy
Stormy arrived at the rescue May 31, 2008. He is a 13 year old stallion that is very high strung. He has had a very sad life. He lived in a 10 x 10 ft. pen behind a barn and was only brought out for breeding purposes and then put back. Up until the last month he has NEVER been with other horses and was not socialized well at all. He is very nervous and aggressive towards other horses. He does very well with humans but is very shy and nervous. He loads and leads well and was even led around by young children. He has never bitten or kicked at people. He is getting gelded to see if that will help him out. The owner he had for the last year took VERY good care of him and worked with him. He is now catching and coming around because of her. She could no longer take care of him due to hay shortage and drought. We will be working long and hard with Stormy. I have high hopes for him and I think in a few months we will be viewing a different horse. We will be getting him out with some others after he is healed from his gelding surgery and getting him more comfortable with people and horses. He is such a beautiful guy with a sweet/nervous disposition. He would be a great horse for an older, experienced child or adult.
UPDATE
Stormy was gelded and is healed very well now. He was put with the other horses and he is/was NOT aggressive at all to any of them. He is still a bit nervous, but comes over to the fence for some attention. He likes attention but is still needing some TLC and some work. He ties and loads and likes treats (Not by hand). He hasn't had any treats that way and we do not want to start a biting habit. He eats them from his pail and looks forward to them.
Stormy packed up and moved to Ray, ND. He is going to get a lot attention from several children and get spoiled silly! We are very happy Stormy found such a special home.
Van Gogh
Van Gogh was born 6-5-08. Willow, his mom came to the rescue a week and a half ago already bred. She surprised us and with no warning gave birth to Van Gogh. He is doing fine despite the fact his mom didn't initially have much milk. We are watching him closely and soon I expect he will be running around and kicking up his heels.
Van has been adopted by the
President of the rescue. He is so good with the handicapped visitors
at field trips that we decided to train him and try to use him for
some therapeutic purposes for others.
Bunny
Bunny is a registered 7 year old buckskin mare. She was donated to the rescue by a gal who wanted her to be used with the volunteers, daycare field trips and events at the rescue. Bunny is very friendly and LOVES to be the barn. She has worked well with our young volunteers and is a great horse to bring out for educational functions. She likes to be groomed and loves attention. We are so glad she will get to remain at the rescue. She has a lot to offer all who visit us at the rescue. She is a great teacher and friend.
Bunny was adopted by a family and her new owner, a seven year old girl is going to give her a wonderful home. They were both very excited!

Bunny was re-adopted after she was brought back from her past owner due to severe winter weather conditions. She is still as great as she ever was and is going to make a few children very happy!
Whisper
Whisper was purchased and then donated 5-28-08. She is a registered 4 year old and expected to foal next year. Whisper is doing great and is very happy to have her sister Willow as company. Whisper is in good health and was donated simply due to the new owner not being able to take care of her. She is very timid around people but will come around with a bit of work. Whisper loaded nicely and leads and ties well too. Shouldn't be long and she will be good as new and good to go!
Whisper was adopted on 6-8-08 by a family. Whisper will be loved by a 7 year old girl who wants a horse in the worst way. Whisper is getting a wonderful corral and barn all to herself so she can have her foal in the spring. Whisper is going to need some extra TLC as she is still afraid of people but has already made leaps and bounds toward her trust issues. She likes to be pet and groomed but is a little anxious. She loads and leads very well.
UPDATE
Whisper just lost her foal and is being returned to us by the previous adoptor due to harsh winter conditions. She is a beautiful dapple gray and is a 5 year old mare.
Pearl
Pearl is a 6 month old miniature paint. She needs some TLC and a friend. She is timid and loving. She is doing good on a lead and aims to please. Pearl would make a good friend for a child. Pearl is small and new so many of the others are mean to her. We have had to separate her out due to that. She needs a home where she can be loved and kept apart from other horses in the beginning.
Pearl was adopted by a Ruso, ND family who absolutely adore here. She has 2 kids and a large dog to play with along with a nice comfy barn and farm. Pearl will finally get the time, attention and love she deserves!
Dolly
Dolly is a healthy unregistered one year old paint and absolutely gorgeous. We named her Dolly as she is so sweet. She loves to be groomed and is starting to be halter trained. She will warm up to you but you have to be slow and gentle as she is timid of people. After she gets to know you she follows you around and waits to be pet. She should be easy to train and work with as she has a great personality and wants to please. Dolly has had shots, been wormed and visit from the farrier. Please help Dolly find a great new home! If you want to adopt Dolly please fill out an adoption application and email back. She is waiting for you. Hurry up!!

Dennis
Dennis was donated to the Triple H Rescue by the founder of the organization so he could be the company mascot. He is the whole reason the rescue exists. He is broke to ride and drive and keeps us all here at the rescue laughing. He can be ornery and grumpy and sweet all at the same time. What a horse!!
Annie
Annie is a 7 year old mare that Triple H is assisting the owner in finding a home for her. She has been broke to drive but still needs more work as she lacks confidence. She is so sweet and eager to please. She gets along well with all animals. She loves treats and grooming. she is UTD on shots, worming and farrier services. Sherman
Sherman, a one year old stallion came to the rescue in ok condition other than his feet were very long and he had not been worked with. He is learning to lead and doing excellent! He is easy to catch and walking great on a lead. He is friendly and likes to be groomed. Had his feet trimmed up since this photo and did pretty good with farrier for the first time. He trimmed up nicely and is shedding out his winter hair. I think he will be a beautiful brown! Sherman will be gelded soon or adopted out as a stallion but with a no breed policy. He gets along great with other horses and shows no stallion dominance traits yet at all.
Sherman was adopted 5-6-08 by the Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue. He has such a docile personality that he will make a good horse for children to use with some of the new programs we are hoping to start. UPDATE 6/5/2008 Sherman was adopted out to a couple who wanted to learn about horses and give a few rescued minis a loving home. Sherman will be gelded soon and teach his owners a lot about horses, love and loyalty.
Jack
Jack is a (gelded) 5 year old miniature donkey. He came to Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue April 18th, 2008. He is such a character and is VERY easy going. He is friendly but shy and loves to be groomed. He is halter broke and easy to catch in his run but harder to catch in a LARGE corral. Jack was not abused. His owners moved to town and could no longer keep him. He gets along with all animals. No biting, or kicking. He even loves the cats. He would make a very good pet for someone. He is such a happy guy now that his feet have been trimmed. He is UTD on shots and wormer. If you can give Jack a home please call.
*REMEMBER-donkeys are very social and love people but really love to be with other donkeys. Would prefer Jack to go to home that has miniatures or another donkey for him. Not to be put with the cows.
Jack was adopted May 5th, 2008 by a great couple. They have been involved in animal rescue for several years and were delighted to help out Jack. Jack instantly took to them and is very excited to go to his new forever home.
Harley
Harley was purchased from a local person who no longer thought Harley was happy at their place. He didn't have any other little minis to socialize with and he had foundered in the past.He is going to live at the rescue and be trained to help out with pony rides at events. He will start training in driving as well. Harley is a good natured, super friendly gelding that has a lot to offer. He should make a good horse for helping the Girls Scouts with badges and any other youth that want to visit the farm.
Lily
Lily was donated to Triple H by a wonderful caring person who raises minis. Lily is old (20 years) and recently lost her foal. She is no longer able to be used as a brood mare and needed a forever home to relax, play and live out the rest of her years. She is very friendly and loves to follow you around like a puppy. She is only 28 inches tall and very beautiful.
Lily was adopted and will live out her years right at the Triple H Rescue. She will get to go to parades, Triple H Rescue activities and maybe even to some nursing homes for visits.
Jewel
Jewel came in with her dad Twerp. They both have been well fed but have been in a neglectful situation. Jewel is a beautiful black 1 to 1 1/2 year old mini that is already a class B. She is gorgeous but has never been handled so will need someone to spend some time with her. She is very sweet and gets along so well with other horses. Does not bite or kick at them. She is sound and has no feet issues. They are both adjusting very well.
Jewel was adopted March 13, 2008 to a wonderful family. She will be trained by a 10 year old who has broken other minis. She is very excited and we know she is in good hands. We are excited to see how well she does and hope Jewel will come back and see us and show us how nice she behaves.
UPDATE - The vet says Jewel is not as young as we thought. He says she is approx. 3 years old and in perfect health. He thinks she will make someone a great pony.
Angel
Angel was obtained at the livestock auction December 29, 2007. She has been abused and neglected but is doing great! She will be kept at the rescue until the tendons in her legs relax and she is more at ease with people. She loads and leads well and worked great with the farrier. She loves the other horses and plays nice. Angel just needs some love right now to be more comfortable.
Angel was adopted March 9th, 2008 by a Bismarck, ND family. She is going to play with their other mini. For the first time in her short life she will have a permanent loving home. Though she was sad to leave Dennis her new mini friend, we know she is going to make many friends and have her very own humans thanks to her new family.
Muffin
Muffin is a 10-11 year old mare that was removed from a neglectful situation by a caring person who saw her and donated her to Triple H. The owners didn't want her anymore. Muffin's feet have been neglected but she is fine, just needs a good trimming which is getting done ASAP. She leads great, loads great and is halter broke. She has led around a 3-6-7 year old bareback. She is very easy going and calm. She came in a little uneasy and walked away when someone would try to catch her. She is already getting better and is really pretty darn good if she is not running with a herd. She does not run away or kick she just is a bit nervous about it. She is a very calm horse and as we go along we will know more. She got a clean bill of health from vet and being she is healthy she could be adopted out anytime. We will continue to work with her on her catching issue but I don't expect it to take too long to resolve.
UPDATE
Muffin has been returned twice as she did not work out until now.............a "wonderful" woman in Colorado adopted Muffin AKA:Bear and is delighted with her. She already has her being caught and loves her to death. A perfect match! We are so glad for both of them. Proves there is ALWAYS a right owner for the right horse! Thank you VAl for adopting Bear and providing such a great home.
Twerp
Twerp came in with his filly Jewel. They both have been well fed but have been in a neglectful situation. Twerp's feet were long but were addressed immediately and he will be fine. He stood really nice for the farrier. He is sound, halter broke, leads and loads great. He is very friendly and willing to please. We are not sure if he is broke to ride or drive yet but will be working to find that out. A beautiful mini.
Twerp was adopted January 25,2008. He is going to a great family with 3 young children who can learn how to lead, ride and love him forever. Twerp came to Triple H as a neglect case. He is very easy going, loving and easy to catch. Though he will be sad to leave his daughter, he will be happy to be adopted by 3 kids who will keep him busy I'm sure. Many thanks to his new family.
Cocoa
Cocoa arrived at the HHHMHR December 12. Her owners donated her as they needed to cut their herd. She is a small, unregistered Shetland mare approx. 6-7 years old(as per vets guess). She is easy to catch, lead, ties and loads very well. She works nicely with the farrier, has been wormed, had a coggons and also had her teeth checked. Cocoa's teeth checked out well and did not need floating. She is a sweet girl that wants someone to love her. She tries hard to please. She has had children sit on her in a saddle and led around. She is good with other horses and plays nice. Cocoa arrived at HHHMHR with a 1 1/2 year old filly Pebbles. Pebbles is a fun pony. She leads, loads and is working on bowing and jumping. We were told she may nip if she gets jealous of attention other horses are receiving but we have not seen this in her yet.
Cocoa was adopted on December 30, 2007. She was adopted by a wonderful local couple that have a great home just waiting for her. She will never be ridden, just enjoyed as a pet. Who could ask for more?
Pebbles
Pebbles arrived with her mom at the HHHMHR December 12, 2007. She is an unregistered 1 1/2 year old miniature Shetland filly that is a lot of fun. She loads, work with farrier nicely, leads and is working on bowing and jumping. We were told by her previous owners that she may nip if she gets jealous of attention other horses are receiving but we have not seen this in her yet. Pebbles was not abused but rather donated due to the cutting of the owner's herd. Pebbles is healthy, has had vaccinations, feet trimmed and a negative coggins. Pebbles would make a great companion for a human or horse. She aims to please and wants to be loved.
Pebbles was adopted December 30, 2007. She was adopted by a wonderful couple and she got to go along with her mom who was also adopted. We know they will be happy and loved.
