Many Rescues Fail Due to Late Reporting

Abused Mini

Triple H tried to rescue these cute mini donkeys but we did not get there in time. We had a very caring person report them to us and we immediately, within the hour tried to rescue them several hundred miles away. They were already gone, whether to slaughter or new owner we don't know. Animals in this condition will not make a flil recovery usually and sometimes need to euthanized but instead wind up at the auction and slaughter houses. PLEASE, if you see an animal in this condition, call us or your local law enforcement. Most of the time the owners do not want the animal and will willingly give it up. That's where we come in and can help. Won't you?

What information will the authorities need in order to investigate equine neglect/abuse/cruelty?

    1. The exact address or a very good description of where the equine can be located now or if necessary the officer may need you to meet him/her and show the way.
    2. What you perceive the problem to be - how long it has been going on etc.
    3. What you personally witnessed or the name of the person who told you and their telephone number if possible or how they can locate the person who has witnessed the neglect/abuse/cruelty.
    4. A good description of the equine in question: it's size, breed, color, markings etc.
    5. While it may not be necessary, the investigator may need your name, address, and telephone number if a warrant will be needed to enter a barn in order to view the equine or if the investigator needs to contact you for more information or to request that you monitor the situation in the future.

For Equine cruelty investigations to be effective and hopeflily remedied, your help and cooperation is imperative.

Over 50% of horses at auction are still going to slaughter even though slaughter houses were shut down in the US this past year. Before you or someone you know sends their horse to slaughter, won't you consider a horse rescue? Many people who don't want to take the time to sell a horse or have an injured or old horse will send to auction not knowing what can happen.

Every 5 minuets a horse is slaughtered for human consumption
